Mrs. Rebecca Lynn Norwood's Obituary
Rebecca Lynn Norwood, age 59 of Scottsboro, passed away on July 19, 2015 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Becky Jones and a 1978 graduate of Lipscomb University. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Mr. Thomas W. Norwood. Mrs. Norwood was a 6th grade teacher at Collins Intermediate School and served the Scottsboro City School system for many years. She was a member of Broad Street Church of Christ and a charter member of Friends of the Family.
Besides her husband, survivors include her son Austin & Jane Norwood of Dacula, GA; daughters Laura & Sean Orlando of Nashville, TN, and Jessica & Levi Sciara of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren Gianna Lynn Orlando, yet to be born Lillian Rose Norwood, and Baby Orlando arriving in December 2015; brother Dr. Ronald Jones; mother in law Sue Norwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Norwood is preceded in death by her parents Ed & Becky Jones, brothers John Jones and Donald Jones, and father in law Welton H. Norwood.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro, AL. The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 22 at 11:00 AM at Broad Street Church of Christ with Mr. Terry Broome officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro. The family is accepting flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to Collins Intermediate School in memory of Mrs. Lynn Norwood for the student book fund.
