Reuben Smith Barnes, 90 of Bridgeport, AL, died October 17, 2012 at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation in Bridgeport, AL. Reuben was the son of the late Claude Thomas and Melissa Bell King Barnes born March 1, 1922 in Bridgeport, AL. He was a retired packer with U.S. Stove Foundry, a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and a member of the Church of Christ in Bridgeport.
Besides his parents, Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years Earlene Fraley Barnes and son Dale Barnes.
Survivors include his second wife of 16 years Billie Ruth Wheeler Barnes of Bridgeport and grandson Christopher Barnes of the Big Coon Community of Stevenson, AL.
Visitation will be Friday 2 ~ 6 PM CDT and Saturday 10 AM ~ 2 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 20, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Roger Comstock and Danny Rader.
