Richard Coffman, 63 of Bridgeport, Alabama, died September 30, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a Superintendent with Chattanooga Boiler and Tank where he had worked over 40 years. He was a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Bridgeport and had been in the Alabama National Guard.
Charles Richard Coffman was preceded in death by his parents Levi and Edna Lawson Coffman; sister Louise Hicks; brothers Hoover, J.W., Billy Gene and Leon Coffman.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Joyce Phillips Coffman of Bridgeport, AL; daughter Leigh (Dan) Tansey of Nashville, TN; sister Glenda (Paul) McCarver of Bridgeport, AL; brothers: Bruce (Elaine) Coffman of East Ridge, TN, Tommy (Edith) Coffman of Hixson, TN, John (Diane) Coffman of MI; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, 1-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral will be Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated be Rev. Owen Durham followed by interment at St. Bonnie Venture Cemetery in Bridgeport.
