Ruth Geneva Elkins Ragan, 91 of Bridgeport, AL, passed away March 16, 2014 at her home. Ruth was the daughter of the late Tommy and Martha Elizabeth Myers Elkins born November 18, 1922 in Calhoun, Tennessee. She had worked in the cafeteria at Bridgeport High School for years. Mrs. Ragan was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leales Earl Ragan; daughter Doris Helton; 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Survivors include her sons: Don (Barbara) Ragan of Jasper, TN, Tommy (Martha) Ragan, Dallas (Betty) Ragan, Glenn (Charlotte) Ragan all of Bridgeport, AL, Keith (Gayle) Ragan of Rossville, GA; 12 grandchildren: 17 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Monday, 5-9 PM CDT, Tuesday 2-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 19, at 11 AM CDT in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Brian Guess. Interment will be in the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
