Ms. Shirley Nell Knotts' Obituary
Ms. Shirley Nell Robertson Knotts’ faith became sight the morning of Wednesday, July 13, 2016 when she had breakfast with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She was born on October 30, 1932 and raised in Memphis, TN as the only child to the late Irby Lee and Oller Mae Halford Robertson. She attended Treadwell High School in Memphis and graduated in 1951. Although Ms. Knotts was employed at the Shelby County Courthouse as a switchboard operator, her most important job was a loving wife and mother. She married Dalton Knotts in October 1971, in which they lived in Greenville, MS until 1988 when they retired and moved to Scottsboro, AL, where she was a member of Centerpoint Baptist Church. While living in Memphis for the past two years, she attended Faith Baptist Church.
Ms. Knotts is survived by her children, Janet Jordan and Joyce McClure, both of Memphis, TN, Henry Knotts, Max Knotts, Tom Knotts, all of Scottsboro, AL, Olen (Sue) Knotts of Las Vegas, NV, and Steve (Tammy) Knotts of Chattanooga, TN; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation for Ms. Knotts is Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro, AL. The funeral service is Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11 AM at the Rudder Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Morman officiating and burial to follow at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, AL.
