Starkey Rogers, 96 of Bridgeport, AL, died peacefully at his home on March 26, 2011. Starkey was the son of the late James H. "Jim"and Nancy "Gertie" Paris Rogers born December 24, 1914 in Bridgeport, AL. He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and was retired from U.S. Stove after 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Elizabeth Nell West Rogers and sister Joyce Cooper; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held Monday, March 28, at 2 PM at the Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL officiated by Bro. Owen Durham and Bro. Dean Johnson. The nephews served as pallbearers. Interment is in the St Bonaventure Cemetery in Bridgeport.
