Sydney Louise Smith Ward, 90 of Bridgeport, AL died September 9, 2008 at Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, AL. She had worked as a knitter at Pittsburg Knitting Mill and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Sydney was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Ward; parents James William and Amanda Cash Smith; siblings: Stella Gregory, John Henry Smith, Rita Smith, Mattie Lee Rodgers, Blanche Dudley, Prince Smith, Clarence Howard Smith and half sister Vivian Smith.
She is survived by a sister Allie Smith Keller of Stevenson, AL; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Thursday, September 11, at 11 AM CDT at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sydney Ward may be made to The Gideons International, P.O.Box 42, Scottsboro, AL 35768
