Thomas Edward Dawson, 66 of Orme, Tennessee, died September 11, 2013 at Grandview Medical Center in Jasper, Tennessee. Thomas was the son of the late Arthur Franklin and Myrtle Louise Goff Dawson born February 17, 1947 in Orme, Tennessee. He was a graduate of South Pittsburg High School Class of 1965. Tom was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran and had worked as a boilermaker welder on power plants.
Besides his parents, Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his devoted aunt Bertha Blansett and sister-in-law Lois Jean Dawson.
Survivors include his children: Rene' (Jamie) White and Derek Dawson all of Chattanooga, TN; partner Barbara Green of Orme, TN; step-mother Hazel Dawson of Orme. TN; step-daughter Jennifer Green; grandchildren: Andrea White, Samantha White, Becky Burks; brothers: William A. Dawson of Bridgeport, AL, Wayne (Karen) Dawson of Chattanooga, TN; sisters: Mary (George) Gregg of Jasper, TN, Cheryl (Howard) Evans of Orme, TN, Janice Wilbanks of Bridgeport, AL, Bernice (James) Grider of Orme, TN; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The Graveside Service will be Friday, September 13, at 2 PM CDT at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport, Alabama. Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL assisted the family with arrangements. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
