Freemon Meeker, 66 life-long resident of Stevenson, AL died January 13, 2009 at his home. He was a retired technician of Avondale and Shaw Industries having worked for 26 years. Freemon was as avid sportsman who loved fishing and hunting.
Thomas Freemon Meeker was preceded in death by his wife Mary Faye Riddle Meeker; parents Charlie and Molly Moore Meeker; sisters: Charlsie Peters, Dora Hawes and Ruby Meeker; grandson Christopher Sands.
He is survived by his children: Thomas W. (Peggy) Meeker and Donna J. (Allen) Sands of Stevenson; grandchildren: Shellby Sands and Brad Sands of Stevenson; brothers and sisters: Horace Meeker of Rogersville, AL, Curley Meeker of Stevenson, Harvie Meeker of Rogersville, AL, Amanda Gentry of Hixson, TN, Edna Matthews of Hixson, TN, Sue Parish of Orlando, FL, Jean Meeker of Decatur, GA, Dot Gentry of Temple, GA, Mary Kathryn Hallman of Tucker, GA; nephew Estol Riddle of Rising Fawn, GA; special friend Ruth Rorex; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday and Friday 10 AM - 9 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Saturday, January 17, at 11 AM CST at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. David Marona. Interment will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Pisgah, AL.
