Velma Bernice Meeker Pritchett, 86 of Stevenson, Alabama died June 23, 2015 at her home. Velma was the daughter of Chauncey Fremont and Allie Mae Haswell Meeker born July 7, 1928 in Stevenson, Alabama. She had worked as an LPN at North Jackson Hospital over 30 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Gentry Pritchett; daughters: Judy Pritchett and Patricia Pritchett; siblings: Ed Meeker, Jimmy Meeker, and Alice McCrary.
Survivors include her sons: Paul Fremont (Laura) Pritchett of New Market, AL, Jeffrey Wayne (Angel) Pritchett of Stevenson, AL; grandchildren: Daniel (Leann) Pritchett, Eric Pritchett, Samantha Pritchett, Christina Pritchett, Landyn Pritchett; great-granddaughter Lilly Pritchett; sister Ida (Gary Buckner) Raney of Huntsville, AL.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday, June 26, from noon until 2 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will begin at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel immediately following visitation. Interment will be in Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
