Mrs. Virgina Jena (Lipscomb) Pitt's Obituary
Virginia (Jena) Lipscomb Pitt, age 97, of Scottsboro passed away on 9/20/19 at her home after a brief illness.
She was a native of Scottsboro, graduated from Jackson County High School in 1940 and from Howard College, now Samford University, in 1944. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Jim and Jena opened Jim Pitt’s Flowers, which later became Jim Pitt’s Gifts, which they operated together for over 26 years.
Mrs. Pitt is survived by her son, James Enloe Pitt, III (Beverly) of Auburn; grandsons James Enloe Pitt, IV and Jackson Edward Pitt; sister-in-law Nada Pitt of Great Falls, MT., nieces Jennifer Atkins of Memphis, TN and Martha Richard (Rick) of Ooltewah, TN, Paula Wall of Florida, Paula Kueber of Boise, ID and nephews Jack Martin Pitt of Holly Springs, MS, Dr. Mark Pitt of Blacksburg, VA and Pat Pitt of Olive Branch, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Enloe Pitt, Jr.; her parents, James Hambrick Lipscomb and Bess Moody Lipscomb; her sister, Marie Lipscomb Baker and her husband Charles Baker.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 12:00-2:00 at First Baptist Church in Scottsboro with funeral services immediately following visitation with Pastor Shandy Dill officiating. Interment will follow into Cedar Hill Cemetery.
