Mrs. Virginia Joy Travis' Obituary
Virginia Joy Travis, age 82 of Scottsboro, AL, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. She was a preschool teacher at Calvary Baptist Church for 15 years.
Mrs. Travis is survived by her husband, Harry Travis; daughter, Teresa (Lanny) Chambless of Aspel; three grandchildren, Justin Chambless, Travis Powers, and Eric Powers; sister in law, Carolyn (Ray) Schrunk of Smyrna, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Mattie Welch; daughter, Sheila Powers; and son-in-law, David Powers.
Visitation for Mrs. Travis will be at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro from 11:00 Am – 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 26, 2015 with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Dr. Robert Gamble will officiate and burial will follow at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood. Condolences may be made at www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
