Wallace Steele, 73 of Ooltewah, TN, died February 27, 2013 at Hospice of Chattanooga after a lengthy illness. Wallace was the son of the late William "Bill" and Luna Middleton Steele born July 11, 1939 in Stevenson, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army and had been a commercial welder in combustion engineering. Mr. Steele was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his siblings Jimmy Steele, Gene Steele, twin brother Walter Steele, Virginia Mantooth and Dorothy Carter.
Survivors include his wife Emma Jean Grider Steele; daughter Tracy (Donald) Howard; grandson Blake Howard; brother Billy Hugh Steele; sisters Juanita Haney and Lucille Carter, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Friday, at 12 noon at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL; then process to the Stevenson City Cemetery for a Graveside Service beginning at 2 PM CT.
