Mr. Walter Richard Smith's Obituary
Mr. Walter Richard Smith age 101 of Bridgeport, Al. passed away on Monday December 26, 2022 at his home following a brief illness.
Mr. Smith was born in Richard City, Tennessee to the late Arthur W. and Sallie Sparkman Smith. Walter was retired from the Penn-Dixie Cement Co. where he was a Shift Foreman. Walter was a retired US Army Veteran of WW II, and was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Alabama.
Walter is survived by his wife of 74 years Millie Sue Smith, his children Ron(Debbie) Smith, Judy (Jimmy) Campbell, Wendell (Cathy) Smith, Terry Lea (Sammy) Burrows, Sister Reita Campbell, Six Grandchildren, and Twelve Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Arthur Lee Smith, Mary Katherine Essary, Charles B. Smith, Roy Glen Rorex, Ralph Rorex, Rachel Blevins, James B. Rorex, and Winifred Hoback.
A Graveside Services will held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper Tennessee beginning at 2:00 P.M. Bro. Brian Guess and Rev. Jimmy Campbell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tn.
