Warner Thomas "Tom" Hetrick, 75 of Bridgeport, AL died March 31, 2010 at his home. Tom was the son of the late Chester Jacob and Violet Evans Hetrick, born June 16, 1934 in New Castle, PA. He retired from the U.S. Navy, then worked as a supply clerk at TVA Chickamauga Power Plant Dam. Mr. Hetrick was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport and Fleet Reserve Association. He earned the Silver Beaver Adult Achievement Award from the Boy Scouts of America after leading and working with boys all over the country for 60 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America in Birmingham, AL.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Chester Hetrick.
Mr. Hetrick is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Samuel Thomas and Gretchen Hetrick of Hilliard, OH, Matthew Steven and Lacey Hetrick of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren: Matthew, Jr., Gregory, Ashley and Sara; brother William Jacob "Bill" (JoAnne) Hetrick of PA, sister-in-law Carol Hetrick.
Visitation will be Monday, April 5, from 12 ~ 2 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral will follow immediately at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel. Military Honors and interment will be at the St. Bonnie Venture Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL.
