Wendell Jackson Gossett, 73 of Stevenson, AL died January 2, 2011 at Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, Alabama.
Wendell was the son of the late James Issac and Ethel Irene Evett Gossett born June 5, 1937 in the Big Coon Community of Stevenson, Alabama. He had worked at the Mead Hardwoods sawmill.
Besides his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his siblings: Wheeler Gossett, Beatrice Johnson, Alfred Gossett and Louise Carter.
Survivors include his children: Vickie Thomas of Scottsboro, AL, Jennifer Lang, and Jason (Alisha) Gossett all of Grant, AL; six grandchildren; companion Viola Wilbanks of Stevenson, AL; siblings: Clarence Gossett, Larry Gossett, Linda Phillips, Doris Shavers all of Stevenson, AL and Peggy Richey of Scottsboro, AL; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Monday 5-9 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Tuesday, January 4, at 2 PM at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Jerry Maynor. Interment will be at Price Cemetery in Hollywood, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
