William Alfred "Pete" Willis, 83 of Scottsboro, AL, died October 26, 2012 at his home. "Pete" was the son of the late Alfred Arnold and Margaret Elizabeth Matthews Willis born October 29, 1928 in Rash, Alabama. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and member of Center Pointe Baptist Church. Pete married Ruby Faye Shelton on April 30, 1949. He had worked as a crane operator for Interlake Steel in Riverdale, IL over 30 years.
Besides his parents, Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Ruby Shelton Willis; daughter Kathy Frederick; siblings: Ann Roberts, Jack Willis and Charlie Willis.
Survivors include: his children: Patricia A. (Charles) Gibson, William R. (Lisa) Willis; grandchildren: Brandi Willis, Brandon Willis, Scott Carlson, Melissa Carlson, Justin Carlson, Traci Carlson; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings: Kelcy Willis, Nancy Randolph; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday 3-8 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, October 29, at 10 AM at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. David Mormon. Interment will be in the Longacre Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
