William Jackson "Bill" Ball, 85 of Stevenson, Alabama passed away May 24, 2010 at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation in Bridgeport, Alabama.
Bill was the son of the late George Neapoleon "G.N." and Emma Colston Ball, born September 10, 1924 in Bridgeport, Alabama.
Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served as a Guard Patrolman. He earned the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Ribbon (Japan), Victory Ribbon and two Overseas Service Bars. He was a retired farmer and laborer for TVA.
Mr. Ball was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Harry Lee Ball and Ivan Ball; sisters: Mary Richardson, Alta Cookston, Lois Phillips and Ruth Ball.
He is survived by his sister Jennie Lou Ball Rich of Stevenson; several nieces and nephews; a host of great- nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday 5-9 PM, Wednesday 11 AM - 9 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 27, at 11 AM at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Dean Johnson and Bro Jimmy Ball. Military Honors and Interment will be at Mt.
