Wilson Joe McDonald's Obituary
Wilson Joe McDonald, age 73 of Scottsboro, AL, was born on August 31, 1943 to the late Wilson Merriman and Ruth Nance. He passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:30 AM. Joe confessed his love for Christ at an early age and later joined Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Scottsboro. He remained a faithful member until his health failed. He married Sidney Ann Johnson on February 7, 1970. To this union, three children were born, Erwin Maurice McDonald, Andrea Lynn McDonald, and Kim McDonald. He was a member of the armed forces and fought in the Vietnam War, of which he received an honorable discharge from the US Army. Joe worked for over 30 years at the aluminum plant in Scottsboro, and he also owned and operated his own business for several years. While working in the machine shop, he helped several people in his community. He was a very passionate, loving, and caring person who was always willing to help others. He was a loving husband and family man. Joe leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Sidney McDonald; three children, Maurice (Sabine) McDonald, Andrea (Al) Clark, and Kim McDonald;one brother, Jerry (Sharon) Doss; six sisters, Betty, Patricia, Jackie, all of Chattanooga, and Norma, Gwen, and Marsha, all of Nashville; three grandchildren, Brianna, Moses, and Bradford; a very special friend, Robert “Football” Cullins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
