C.W. "White Eye" Clay's Obituary
Charles William Clay was born to Harve Elliott and Iona Octavia Clay on
March 28, 1936. He was called home on Monday, March 6, 2017 at his home in Hollywood, AL. As an adult, many came to know him as C.W., and to even more he was known as “White Eye”. He was a trustworthy friend, an honorable father, and an upright man who loved the Lord and would share it will ALL he came in contact with.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Debra Clay. He is also survived by three children, Rebecca Clay Steger (Herman), William Provens, and Cheryl Cummings; eleven grandchildren, many he gave nicknames to, Darian Clay (White Eye Jr), Shaunte McCamey (Shoulder), Nikki Clay (BooBoo Color), Kacey Christian (Bottom Lip), Timothy Dixson (Pot), Alexis Provins (Deb), Tucker Provens (BT), Di’Vantae Provens (Lil Un), Eilaun Cummings (ET), Charleigh Grace Provens (Charley Grey), and Everleigh Provens; one very special granddaughter, Cashlin August Williams; three great-grandchildren, Cashawn Smith, Darian Clay Jr., and Kenyan Clay Wilbourn; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that he felt were also family.
Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Rena Octavia Clay.
Visitation for C.W. Clay will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 11 AM – 1 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 1 PM, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hollywood. Burial will follow at Old Baptist Cemetery. Condolences may be made at www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
