I did not personally know Mrs. Clara, but have had many contacts with her children through education. My deepest sympathy is extended to her family and many friends. By knowing and associating with her children, I know she was no ordinary mother. Her family demonstrates the many attributes they learned from her—love, respect of others, hard work, friendliness and willingness to help others. After learning of her passing, a comical note came to mind. Once when Kenneth and I were in political opposition for Superintendent of Jackson County Schools, I approached her at a political rally, began a conversation and asked for her vote. I’ll always remember her sweet answer, “Honey, I would vote for you, but I am Kenneth Harding’s mother.” I answered, “Then I wouldn’t expect you to vote for me, because I know my mom would not vote for Kenneth!” I pray God will wrap His loving arms around each family member assuring them she is being well cared for and bringing them peace, comfort and understanding. God bless you now and in the days ahead,~~Brenda Brown~~Section
