Clara Nell Guinn Harding's Obituary
Clara Nell Guinn Harding of Scottsboro, AL passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 at the age of 88. She was a faithful member of the Faith Covenant Church of God in Scottsboro. A tireless prayer warrior, she interceded on behalf of the needs of many people in the community, including her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws,  and anyone whom she knew had a genuine spiritual need. She gave selflessly out of a modest income to help meet the material and temporal needs of others, most often anonymously. Ms. Harding retired from a career in law enforcement in 20?? after almost 40 years of service, most of those with the Scottsboro Police Department. She held several positions from school crossing guard to police dispatcher to 32 years as a court magistrate.  She is preceded in death by her parents John Franklin Guinn and Tilda Ruth Manning Guinn; sisters Myrtle Sharp, Irene Anderson, Annie Harrison, and Betty Fay Guinn; brothers Edward (Pap) Guinn, G.W. Guinn, and Rev. Charlie Guinn. She is survived by her Son Kenneth Ray Harding (Ann), and daughter Sherry Harding Veal (Darel); four grandchildren Jeremy Harding (Susan), Josh Harding (Haley), Anna Catherine Hays (Jeremy), and John Harding Veal (Sarah); five great grandchildren Cooper, Colton, Tucker, and Tatum Harding, and Abner Lewis Veal. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro for their genuine care and concern, and for their kind and courteous words of sympathy for the family. They also would like to thank Dr. Charles Bradford for his many years of providing excellent healthcare for Ms. Harding.
Visitation is at the Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro, AL on Tuesday, January 17th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will take place also at Rudder Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m. All friends, family, and acquaintances are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
