Jessie Mae Walker's Obituary
On Sunday, July 14, 2013, God called the soul of Mrs. Jessie Mae Walker to her heavenly Father for her reward. She was affectionately known as Moma Jessie to all. She accepted Jesus Christ at a very young age. She loved Jesus until the very last hour. Love was her favorite word, and she always said, “It’s in the heart.”
She was born September 16, 1933 to the late John Cross and Maude Ellison Cross. She was the youngest of her siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin E. Walker. To their union, they had seven children: Earnest (Linda) Jones, Carlene Walker Reid, Eileen Walker, John F. Walker, Venita (David) Walker, and Almeada Walker. Her son Morgan (Bonnie) Walker preceded her death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 17, from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Greater
St. Paul AME Church on North Houston Street in Scottsboro. The Funeral will follow at 1 PM
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery
