John Cobb Hall, 75 of Bridgeport, AL, died June 20, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. He was the son of the late John Allison and Lois Vivian Lovelady Hall born September 14, 1937 in Bridgeport, AL. Cobb was a 1955 Graduate of Bridgeport High School and attended Auburn University of three years. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Hall was a member, Sunday School Teacher, and Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport. He has owned the Hammer's Department Store in South Pittsburg, TN for 49 years. Cobb enjoyed gardening and beekeeping.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Dottie Blake.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Emily Lou Hammer Hall of Bridgeport, AL; children: Karen L. (Gary) Kannenberg of St. Louis MO, John C. (Lee Anne) Hall, Jr. Wilsonville, AL, Michael A. Hall of Bridgeport, AL; grandchildren: Somer Hall, Alexa Kannenberg, Holly Hall and Ashlee Hall; siblings: Betty Smith, Jean Jolley, Jewel Barham, Billy Hall and Susie Smith.
Visitation will be Sunday, 7-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, June 24, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Houston Thomas and Bro. Todd Lint. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
