Mrs. Sheppard meant so much to me. I became friends with her daughters Gwen and Gale when my family moved to Scottsboro in 1955. After we moved away in 1957, I went back to visit the Sheppards many times, once just days after Gill was born. She was a wonderful lady and mother, great fun for us girls. She seemed to love to see us enjoy ourselves. I have thought of her a million times over the years and will continue to be inspired by her memory. My love to all the girls and their families.
